Thank you, it does help. You both have been a tremendous help, I really appreciate it. There needs to be more people like you in the world, willing to help and not only worrying about themselves!
I'm not sure what I'll decide but at least now I have a good perspective of both options.
Thanks again!

Sounds good! You might hang on to that vfc for a couple months and keep an eye on the airsoft society classifieds and ebay. I have seen better deals... Especially on ass. They usually go for under $200. And some go on ebay for about that.

But with the extra mags and red dot the value would be higher right? I was thinking, maybe I could buy the sr10 and try it and see if it is what I'm looking for then if I don't want it I could just return it because it has hassle free returns. Does that sound like a good plan?

That isn't a bad idea... There is maybe $100 of value on the externals bought new, so that gives you a pretty good deal. I would say it is pretty safe. You aren't getting ripped off and you aren't taking a riskily low price. You will probably be pretty happy. I got my SR12 bare bones with 2 mags for 265. You could do a LOT worse.

Yea that what I was thinking. If I only shoot a few mags I should be able to return it If I really didn't like it. Do you think I'll have much trouble selling the 416c if I go this route? If I can't sell it I could still return the sr10 and stick with the 416c so it's safe.

Okay, could you give me your idea on how much I should start out at, not including shipping costs?

Here's what it comes with.
4 mid cap mags
2 peq boxes
Flip up rear sight
Cracked holographic sight (I think it works)
Wired to deans
The gun is in great condition with minimal scratches or dings

Thanks!

Out of curiosity, is there something you do not like about the 416?

Assuming you are looking at the first ebay link, $375 is a solid budget to turn the VFC in to a system that would outperform both stock platforms with ease.

There is also something to be said about sticking with a system that uses common TM parts and isn't as finicky about the mags you use.

I just want a reliable field gun that will perform well without messing with the gearbox and I think the kwa fits those needs more than the 416c.

I have a budget of $0 so I would be selling the 416c and buying the kwa. I don't have an extra $375 to put into it :D The mags that come with it should also be plenty and the seller said they feed flawlessly.

Something to keep in mind then . . . all AEG's break. It is just a matter of when. At some point you will end up needing to mess with the gearbox.

KWA does tend to have excellent customer support, though warranty service will not apply to buying it used. Still, if it breaks (and you still have the orange flash hider) it is a good source of techs who work on ONLY KWA platforms. This does not, however, mean it will be cheap.

To echo something said earlier, the only replacement for a KWA hopup is a KWA hopup. It is my least favorite part of their design and is one of the reasons I rarely use my KWA's in favor of traditional TM compatible systems.

Irregardless of which system you start with, high performance will not be achieved until you learn how to tech the gun yourself. Only you will have the focus and dedication to disassemble and reassemble the gearbox as many times as necessary to achieve your goal . . . very few techs will (unless you are paying them time and materials over a flat rate).

Personally I would keep the VFC and build up a solid gearbox and barrel/hopup on the side as finances allow. There are more options available for the VFC in that regard simply because V2 TM gearboxes are more prevalent than KWA 2GX's. If you have zero interest in teching it yourself, then yeah, go for the KWA.

I really appreciate your thoughts but this is how I think of it.

I have not even played at a field yet and I'm not really ready to do much in gearbox upgrades. So I think getting a gun that will work well for a while without upgrades is a good choice. I also like the look of the sr10 more, I just don't like the compact style. Eventually once the kwa breaks I'll try to fix it and then either sell it for a little or keep it as a backup. Then I could move on to building a custom gun.

Right there is the kicker - you don't like the style of the gun you presently own. It is then compounded with a shortage of field time.

First things first: get your butt on the field. Play a few games and then determine if you like the VFC. There will always be used KWA SR10's out there as well as people interested in buying your VFC.

The weekend is just hours away. I am sure there is a game going on somewhere near you either Saturday or Sunday. Shoot some BBs, call your hits and report back on Monday.

Corriander nailed it. Get some actual field time with the 416. That will be the ONLY way to truly answer your question of "to get the SR10 or not."

Both guns are great in there own ways, and what everyone has said is solid.

Get in some solid trigger time on a actual field, backyard ball does not cut it.

He does have a point. The only reason I'm rushing this is I particularly like the deal on eBay. Maybe that's just because I haven't been looking long enough though... Well I guess I'll take your guys advice and head out to the field. I'll maybe pick up a chest rig and pouches. This is the chest rig I'm thinking of:Condor MCR7 MOLLE Tactical Ronin Chest Rig Split Vest OD MCR7 001 | eBay

Thank you so much guys for your advice!
