I'm new to airsoft sniping so I'd like to know what's a good starting rifle under $150? I almost got a classic army m24LTR but someone else bought it. I'd like something I won't have to upgrade to get good range and acruacy as well as good fps.

There is really no great cheap rifle straight off but the Jing Gong Bar10 is a great starting rifle and it has stack loads of potential. If you do not want to upgrade the rifle, get the Pro Version as it has the longer inner barrel and this gives slightly more fps.

JG Bar-10
Well L96

Also there's that one M24 that's APS2 right? But I can't remember what that is. I just know Dimitri MDP talks about it.

A&K M24 will suit with you price

I also will give a vote for the JG Bar-10, only go for the g spec variant if you plan on immediately plan on swapping the inner-barrel as well as using BB's within the .3-.36 range ( this is from the cylinder to BB ratio) , as I believe the barrel length is only like 363 mm, and the Pro variant is 430 mm. But if you planned on swapping for a longer barrel on the g-spec, you still have to drill the end cap of the outer-barrel to get the inner-barrel to fit into the suppressor.

So, in short, go for the JG bar 10 Pro.

for that low budget, the best option is probably the M24 by A&K. Can be upgraded to 550FPS just using some spacers behind the spring, and the chamber is VSR-ish so it can use a Maple Leaf hop arm + Maple leaf Autobot bucking for outstanding results.

Might need quite some wisdom and fine-tuning while upgrading though.

With that budget and no upgrades, there really isn't any options. The JG Bar 10 is a great sniper, but you'd have to upgrade it a lot for it to be good and for you to have fun with it. I recently purchased mine with 5 upgrades as well. You could also try Well's VSR 10 G-spec as I was almost going to purchase it but change my mind due to the JG being more known and with more upgrade parts

The M24 is a good one.

I know it's an old thread but I would like to know what's the best place to buy JG Bar 10? Actually, I am restarting sniping and my old rifle isn't working well so thinking of getting it replaced.

Double Bell? That used to be a real rubbish brand. Do they make a decent on spec VSR now?

I would suggest a Double Bell VSR-10, CYMA CM701, or a Novritsch SSG10 for you.
The BAR-10 is not at all cost effective, and the 3 guns above do about everything better.
The BAR should be pretty much literally the same thing as the CYMA one though

I am curious about this too. I have seen advertising claims of the DB shooting stock 500+ fps and was wondering of the internals are better or if it just has a stiffer spring and will probably last only a few shots or if the claims are just false.

The Double Bell VSR clone that is black andooks really bumpy is awesome.
I was under the impression that I had a CM701 since I got it, but it turns out I was wrong.
The cylinder is terrible and the piston and spring guide are plastic, but the trigger lasted me a while and the barrel and hop chamber are okay.

What is really good is the stock and the receiver, the stock could probably be used to smash a Tokyo Marui stock to bits, and the receiver was pretty much impossible to strip by hand without needing a lever or a impact wrench.
The outer barrel is okay, nothing special, and the hop block and mag release is one piece, and the trigger guard is metal.
Would definitely recommend this the most if you want to build from the bottom up and like the standard looking stock, but if you want performance out of the box then get the SSG10, T11, or that Barrett Fieldcraft thing on Evike.
