The MK1 on green gas is really good. One year they were having a cracker of a sale on those too. I gave one to Sasquatch for xmas. He can't kill it. The body is some kind of goovy polymer even and the thing just works. The hop is adjustable and it's had no issues whatsoever after three years. LOOK AT THE PRICE!!! Also note the 'sniper conversion kit'...yeah you can convert this to a carbine. I'm telling you, these guns get no love anywhere, but the potential is monstrous.

Now, the MK2 is a hefty sucker...alot more metal, but it'll still take CO2 or green gas mags and when all else fails you can brandish it like a club. For 85 bucks...really?

Nice looking stuff! I actually have had a mk1 a long time ago (one of my first guns). It was pretty accurate. Now I did sell it because I lent it to a friend for a back yard skirmish and he ended up point blanking his brother and left some nasty bloody wounds. It shot hard. At that point, I was pretty inexperienced at tech work so I just sold it to get a lower powered pistol. Now it is quite appealing to me especially since I am confident I could lower the velocity. If the c02 was the same price, I would buy one now for a loner/future compact sniper rifle build. Still considering the green gas one though.

Guess I am going to continue to try to get these cheapy pistols to work. The hard thing about installing a hopup system in them is the room and sustaining enough pressure. They use the barrel as the hammer to knock open the poppet valve so air seal is only momentary. Going to try S-hopping one with some rtv silicon I have on hand. Maybe try to seal the barrel to the chamber with reciprocating sealing o-ring.

Y'know, that's what I really liked about the prowler..dig this...the slide doesn't chamber the BB...the trigger does! So what happens when you pull the trigger is that the nozzle is attched to the trigger. It pushes the BB from the mag and loads it just like an AEG does, then when the mechanism moves far enough forward, it hits the gas valve which cycles the piston and slide. So when the shot is done, the hop is empty...not reloaded like a true semi auto pistol. The firing cycle is backwards! But you get an epic airseal....

Now, as for the KJ's. you can still use green gas mags in the MK2 and the MK2 although it's a few more bucks is a far superior chassis.

Let me know how the 'goo' hop works in a pistol!! I'm wondering if the violent kickback (compared to a rifle) would knock it out of whack...

KJW or Elite Force

I have been looking into some pistols too and really like the blow-back ones. I have specifically been looking at the KJW tactical Hi-capa and the Elite Force 1911 tac. I am thinking of going with the KJW because it holds more rounds. Is there really a big difference whether it is blow-back or not in terms of noise? Are there any better ones in the same price range (max $150) that would be good for a sniper?

Easy- Novritsch sidearms.
Cheap- We gun+maple leaf upgrade kit.
Fancy- Silo Entertainment Desert Eagle.
Ridiculous- Tm hi-capa Xtreme- fun to watch, but goes through its magazine faster than a jack rabbit on ketamine.
Sensible- TM 1911 hicapa with Maple Leaf upgrade kit.

A note about KJ's from experience...never fully load your mags. Get second mag and split the load. Why? After a dozen shots (especially if your firing quick) that pistol is going to ice up...especially with CO2. Loading half makes me switch out the mag to a warm cartridge again. Also avoid mag dumping. Take a couple of shots, give it a rest, repeat. This will make sure that you don't freeze the gaskets or the nozzle. Think of it as the opposite of getting your barrel hot by over firing. I usually load about 10-14 in a mag, and pack 3 mags. That's usually enough to get me out of whatever I got myself into. hahahah:lmao:

If you do go with a 1911, look around for the AIP composite nozzle. The stock KJ's will tend to crack if they freeze...I've never had a hiccup with the AIP and it's been four years!!

I'm late to this party but...

I have a decent sidearm.. the ASG CZ P09. It's pretty okay, accurate out to 50 or 60 yards (usually). It'll take a suppressor, and I have mags for both CO2 or GG.

But it is hard on gas. uses a lot. Granted, while operating in a sniper role, I should rarely even have to use it, but there's always that "one time when" scenario. It's also friggin' loud. When I'm running my AEG, I like that it's loud. But not while trying to be sneakybear.

I've been researching sidearms for the better part of 6 months... what I'm looking for is easy enough, right? Not so much. I'm looking for a CO2 NBB that will take a suppressor. And has a hopup. I'll be lobbing sniper-weight BBs with it, so I need the spin.

Is that the cz shadow?
I have a nuprol 1911.
It is not great. In the winter it spits gas everywhere and is about as accurate as a fire extinguisher loaded with bbs.
But it is a 1911.
To throw a recommendation out there, aeps from cyma are accurate out to 30m, quiet and have full auto.
They sound stupid, but, that's an aep for you.
Also, a cool sidearm is the kwa mac11. It is unreliable, but very cool.

I want to be able to use it when I am sniping but also as a main weapon to be used in cqb.
Forget about an Mk23 of any description then. The trigger pull is so heavy that by the time you've put 2 down range, anyone with a normal GBB will have put 4 on you.

Mk23's are great if you want silence and to be sneaky. If you want "just" a sidearm to get you out of tight spots and to use during CQB. A Hi-Capa or G17 may be up your street?

My favorite, Tm hicapa, shoots very well out of the box. 30/50bb mags. Tons of upgrade parts if you like to mod guns. Not the smallest sidearm, big grip not perfect for small hands. Not a quiet sidearm either but what good Gbb pistol is.
Very good cqb weapon and good enough efficient range to use it as a second main weapon on field.

Best regards gl
