I just want to upgrade the hop-up chamber for not the price of the AA one
Here's the lesson I have learned and found to be true. It's best to get the best.

Try finding a used AA chamber. That is what I just did. Hardcharger1775 was just selling one too, but he sold it already. You might buy the Nov. one and have it not fit, making it more money. I would say you could probably find a used one for around $40, $20 more than the Nov. one. If you aren't to serious into airsoft ya ok maybe try the Novritsch but if you love airsoft and evan more airsoft sniping pay the extra bit save for a bit and it will be worth it.

PS-I do not know if the Nov. fits

Seconding Ron here, if you don't have a plan to change the chamber unit, SS nub + TDC is the cheapest way to go. And indeed SSG10 chamber is barely an upgrade, in which the sliding pin that gives tension to the nub is now supported by two sides rather than one side that stock VSR10 has, which is meant to give better, even pressure to the nub, which essentially what TDC does.

Ya, TDC would probably be your best option to go. Since your on a tight budget and I have a 3D printer I could make this for you (link). I have yet to try it out for myself due to I just had a event and didn't want to ruin my gun. But I'll try it out soon:)
Also I have a ML hop up nub that I'm not using due to I have something else. Does that fit with the stock chamber guys?

Yeah upgrading the JG BAR-10 to SSG-10's chamber is barely if at all an upgrade IMO, they're even made in the same factories

If you're going to upgrade might as well just upgrade to AA or upgrade to TTI

I'd say it's a pretty significant upgrade. The dual channel design fixes the jssue that the bar-10 chamber has. It also has a much better hopup arm.

If you want to upgrade the hop unit as cheaply as possible just buy the 60 degree maple leaf autobot bucking and concave nub. When it comes just cut the tongue-piece on the bucking that alligns it in the chamber a little bit thinner so that it fits. In my experience it usually comes too thick. Then file the plastic nub off the original hop up arm to be flat and put the concave nub in there. Then just do a quick TDC. The TDC is essential with this. I've tried doing this with the original adjuster arm and it sucks compared to a quick TDC.

The ML Omega nub kind of sucks, I'd suggest that you make the SS-nub in my signature below.

As for the hop chamber, I'd say that the AA chamber is a much better purchase for another $20 or so, and with minor effort can be the best VSR chamber available in terms of performance.
If you want to get AA performance with your stock chamber, I'd make my nub and shim your arm, and get one of THESE, and also fill that hollow space in your arm with a steel bar or the epoxy to make my nub. This will get you as good of performance as any chamber, but it will be a bit more work and may need more messing about to get thing going well.

I did up reading your post about the SS nub, is the phone point of this to have even pressure on the bucking? I don't quite get it
