Has anyone attempted this? I have a rifle that has big problems, with the current bolt and with the trigger mechanism not striking the mag hard enough to release adequate gas.

Therefore, I'm am extremely interested in going the HPA route.

I have gotten the official confirmation that the tanaka m700 is not compatible with the BOLT platform, but having no other information as to why it's incompatible, I'm left itching with curiosity (i don't take well to no).

I have access and experience with machining tools and I am comfortable making changes to the body of the rifle to accommodate the BOLT.

Thanks in advance.

The inner diameter of the receiver is a good bit smaller than the BOLT even without the accompanying VSR-10 cylinder, so I don't see a way this could be made to work without crazy modifications requiring you to machine lots of parts.

I suggest that you have somebody more experienced take a look and have them price out fixing it, and then decide if it's worth the $275 plus a base gun and parts, along with HPA rig.

I own the BOLT and F2 and love them, but I bought them both used for crazy discounts back when deals on HopUp were still a thing, and I would likely not have them or even be into airsoft now if it weren't for how good of prices I got on them.
If you are not in a hurry, you can piece the gun together, but if not then be expecting to spend a solid $600 at the minimum for all the parts and gear required to take advantage of the BOLT effectively.
Not saying it can't be done for less, but with the airsoft used market these days I don't see you spending much less than that to begin with.

I see, well thank you for the response, it's nice to know exactly why it is incompatible. I'm not necessarily in a hurry, I just figured if I'm going to spend 100 CAD for a new bolt alone and a (yet to find one) trigger assembly, I may as well spend some extra money and have a fairly problem free build.

Would you happen to know if any other trigger assembly's are compatible with this particular brand? Perhaps the KJW m700 would be a option?

What all have you done with your m700?

If its a genuine tanaka then the hammer and strike plates on your magazines are mushroomed if you use green gas or higher pressure gas. Pre ban or post?

All of the striking force in a Tanaka comes from the bolt. Trigger doesn't do anything then hold the striker and locks it in to the ready to fire state.

Odds are the striker spring needs replacing. Or just tightened.

If you want a list of parts to get to beef up the rifle I can get that to you.
