I was leaning towards the tac cuz I heard it's easier to upgrade but If there are any advantages that either of them have that would be helpful.
Here is everything I learned from that process:
Hey Folks, So I got a Silverback Tac 41 a few months ago and was impressed with the out of box performance (except the spring power but I expected that). After doing some research, I determined that the best options for upgrades were either to buy the Silverback upgrade parts or purchase the...

Overall, it's a great gun with a lot of great features OOTB that the VSR 10 doen't have. A few of those being a bolt that can be pulled out without disassembling the gun by taking out a simple pin, a stock magazine that has 48 rounds in it plus a 20 round loading tube, a stock TDC hop up chamber, and a very nice adjustable stock. Unfortunately, it seems like over the past few years silverback has had some QC issues. You can see in my post that I had quite a few issues with items ordered directly from silverback. That said, there are many companies (Stalker Airsoft) now making excellent third-party parts that can make the Tac 41 a beast.
Oh and for the tac 41, just know that the spring that comes in it is pathetically weak and that the barrel and bucking that comes in it is AEG spec.

The SSG10 is ,imo, the best out of the box vsr-10 option. With the stock set up and the correct bbs, it can hit targets pretty accurately at around 225 ft out of the box. That said, I upgraded mine with a Tridos design TDC, new barrel, and hucking. If you were to get the SSG 10 I would shoot it for a while and figure out what you like about it and don't like about it. If you were to want more range I would recommend a nicer barrel, TDC, and new bucking. A stronger spring also might be a good idea if youre within your Joule limits for the fields you play.
