I've found the silver one seems to work a treat in all of my setups. Don't think anyone ever has really stated one is better than any others.

 

I also use the silver one.

If you watch the video which details the installation and nub choices, the chap clearly says there is little to no discernible performance difference between them, simply options.

 

I was wondering - the three main nubs supplied in the TRIDOS 2.0 TDC are all the same size as the Action Army hop window about 7mm from memory but my r-hop patch on my barrel is only 6.25mm long and I currently use a M-nub that’s about 4.75mm to push more in middle of r-hop (allowing a little bit of area each end of the r-hop to deform so to speak) so aren’t the three regular nubs all a bit too long ??

 

In your specific case yes they would be too long to properly engage the rhop. As they will be hitting the barrel.

As to the actual question of the thread. I do have the tridos, and tested the different nubs. The xrange I have been using, I didn't see any major differences between them. Maybe with a different bucking you might see a slight difference, but so far I have not.

 

In absolute terms, maybe.....but.......without some testing with a control then you won't be able to ascertain if there's any performance difference.

Update-
It does seem to apply hop enough for up to 0.5s although it’s probably putting a lot of distortion on the Purple Laylax Nineball.
I should also state I am using a bridged Edgi brass barrel.

 

For that you want a classic style rod like nub or one of those hourglass shaped ones as they're meant for mound buckings, especially with a bridged barrel

 

I know i am late to this but maybe it can help. I tried the silver and the black one with the maple leaf autobot 2021 silicone version 80 degree, action army chamber and tridos tdc.
Black one: more range (+10 meters) and less hop needed to apply.
silver one: less range and more hop needed to apply.
