Hello all

I am planning to upgrade my cyma 701b with the following upgrades:
Action Army VSR 10 specialised trigger
Action Army VSR 10 Teflon coated masamune cylinder
Maple leaf 70 degree hop rubber
Maple leaf 428mm 6.02mm inner barrel
Action Army VSR 10 hop up chamber
Action Army spring guide
New spring

I've been researching this to make sure all of the parts would be compatible. One thing I came across fairly regularly was that the Action Army hop up chamber caused a few issues with cyma magazines. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Also if you don't mind rating my setup/if you had any advice it'd be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Do not get the Masamune cylinder. It is made a bit too wide and no pistons (outside of having really big o-rings) could seal inside it you cannot really use it. Get the Maple Leaf or Laylax ones instead.
Since you're replacing the trigger you will also have to replace the piston, Laylax ones are decent (you're suggested to add a good amount of weight onto it to handle heavier BBs).
You'll need to specify which Maple Leaf bucking but the MR-Hop 2021 seems to be a good bet.

I'd say get the
SCW trigger
Laylax or SCW piston
SCW spring guide
AA twisted cylinder
Rapax or PDI 9X13mm spring
AA chamber
Pantera nub
MR-hop 85°
AA 6.01X380mm barrel (their AEG ones come in more lengths and will fit VSR buckings)

Besides that, shim your hop arm with a couple wraps of Teflon tape and make some barrel spacers out of painters tape.
You may or may not need to file and sand the bridge off of your inner barrel if you get the 85° MR-hop and AA AEG barrel.

Also, I used to have the CM701 and the AA chamber and never had any serious issues.
The one thing that I did have to do was file down the front edge of the chamber to make it fit in all the way, but that may no longer be an issue.
If anything arises, there's some YouTube videos I could send to you.

Great, thank you for the advice. I'll let you know if I'm having issues with the hop unit

Does the mr hop 2021 fit on the original inner barrel (looks like it is an aeg barrel). Or is it a better idea to get the aeg version of the mr hop 2021 with the stock barrel. Also would lapping the original inner barrel make it as good as (or close to ) the crazy jet?

I am going to get the TDC CNC Hop Up Chamber Set from TTI and the mr hop 2021, I don't have money left so lapping the original inner barrel will save me 50$.

I don't think it'd be an AEG barrel, it likely just has a bridged window. I suggest that you file off the bridge making sure there's no burrs, and then you should be good to go for a VSR style bucking.

A Crazy Jet is a pretty solid barrel, but you can for sure beat it's performance by lapping a stock barrel. I'd still plan on getting a tighter barrel down the road, but you should be able to lap the stock barrel and use it for as long as you need to.
