Hi All,

First post here. I've been a bit of a lurker researching how to install a Bolt with a small HPA tank in the stock. I got many insights from this forum and decided to post my progress in case it helps others on a similar journey.

My specific setup is as follows:
  • SSG10 A1
  • Wolverine Bolt
  • 9ci HPA tank
  • Wolverine Storm Cat 5 regulator

The cat 5 is fairly short but seems wider than a lot of other regulators so fitting it with the 9ci was always going to be a challenge. I decided to use a heat gun and pry the neck of the stock from about 31mm to 42mm so that the reg could fit. To do this I used 2 tyre irons and a pivot between them along with a G-clamp at the end in order to create what is basically a large pair of reverse pliers that open inside the stock when the ends outside the stock are pushed together. Careful heating and expanding worked a charm and opened up what would otherwise never have fitted the regulator which itself is 30mm in diameter.

That combined with a dremmel and melting plastic here and there got me to this point. I also lathed the 2 1/8 NPT grub screws on the cat 5 flush so that they did not protrude and take up unnecessary space. The photos show some brass end caps on the reg - the one is temporary while I wait for the push-fit fitting that comes with the bolt.

The actual bolt only arrives tomorrow so next up will be that install. I'll post details as I get along.

BOLT guy here as well, they're probably the best engine out there.

I dig your heat stretching thing, seems OBVIOUS, but it just never occurred to me. Hell of a lot easier than fumbling around with a wood rasp, or hacking away most the the stock until your dust pile is bigger than the stock lol
